CSTA Alabama has been selected by CSTA to pilot a Chapter Inquiry Group which is a program designed to engage CS educators in identity-inclusive CS topics, safe conversation practices, and community building. Each participant will asynchronously complete the 10~ hour “Identity Inclusion for K-12 Computer Science Educators” online course on Coursera between October-December 2022 and will attend 5 monthly 90-minute meetings (January - May).
We need a minimum of 10 members to commit for this school year and are hoping that you would consider participating. If you are interested, please complete the Interest Survey and take a look at the recording of the Chapter Inquiry Kickoff Session hosted by CSTA on Monday, October 10, 2022. More information can be also found on the attached flyer.
Let us know if you have any questions. We’re excited for this journey and the impact it will have on our chapter, us, as individuals, and ultimately, our students–until everyone has a sense of belonging in computer science.
Your Chapter Inquiry Group Facilitators,
Shanna Hays & Yolanda Payne
